HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Authorities are investigating after a Harris County Constable Deputy fired his weapon at a carjacking suspect.
According to the Harris County Constable Precinct 4 Office, a constable deputy was pursing a stolen vehicle that was taken in a carjacking.
Officials said three suspects exited the vehicle and the deputy chased one of the three suspects.
During the foot chase, authorities said the suspect the deputy was chasing reaching into his waist to try to pull a gun, that’s when the deputy fired his weapon at the suspect.
The suspect fled from the deputy into an apartment complex at 990 Cypress Station and was arrested without incident.
Authorities said a handgun was also found.
The suspect wasn’t injured by the deputy’s gunfire.
The search continues for the two other suspects that were involved.
Drivers are asked to avoid the area while police investigate.
